A few days ago we received Easter wishes and a nice present from our Czech friends. They sent us a traditional Czech "pomlazka' - a kind of whip used by boys and men on Easter Monday to beat girls in a gentle way. As we learnt "pomlazka" is made from willow rods and its symbolic meaning is that it brings good luck and wealth. In fact this custom used to be popular in Poland in the past but now we celebrate Easter Monday as Śmigus Dyngus which involves a lot of water being poured on girls that day. Thanks to our partners we could learn more about our own customs!
