Lenten Retreat Poland

As catholic religion is dominant in Poland during Lent students can participate in retreat for three days. They usually have shorter lessons or don't have lessons but for example have mock exams after the meeting in the church. This year our 'rekolekcje' were really interesting. A missionnaire born in Belarus (speaking perfect Polish) came to our parish. He had interesting ideas to tell us about things important in life, for example he used a rake during his experiment to show us obstacles we meet in our lives.
If you want to read the interview with the deacon who preached the retreat, go to: http://www.slideshare.net/werkus/interview-with-deacon-kazimierz-ryszkiewicz-sds

A week with Science Poland

23rd - 27th was "A week with Science" in Gimnazjum nr 14 in Ruda Śląska. Each day was devoted to another subject related to science. Students participated in many competitions. They were for example: "Superrachmistrz"(Supercounter); "Zapałczane łamigłówki" (Riddles with matches); an IT competition - PC Questions, "Physics in students' experiments" and a competition to make a clock. The last contest turned out to be the most interesting and it was a good opportunity to show students' creativity. Teachers prepared also interesting Chemistry and Biology lessons, for example about the importance of separating rubbish and the role of chemistry in our lives. Science seems to be quite difficult but these events proved it's really useful in life. So, have a look at the pictures! We hope you recognize some of our eTwinnig group members:-)

Boardgames in reality

We wanted to know if the games are good for English. So we played them at the end of the lesson. The children wanted to play their own game but later they tried the other games too. They were very proud of their successful work. And I am proud of them too.

This is one of the presentations. We have realized, that this famous man died several days ago and he was still alive when our friends decided for him to be among ten famous Polish people.

Polish famous people

The Czech students were very good while they were creating presentations about famous Polish people. They learned how to get the information from the Internet without copying something which they do not understand. They made 13 presentations during 45 minutes.

Especially for our Czech friends!

Today we had interesting guests in our school. Bieklszowice Mine Brass Orchetra came and gave a concert. They played such popular pieces of music like: Vienna Blood by Strauss, Radetzky March by strauus, some traditional American melodies and Jožin z bažin. We really enjoyed this concert and hope you like it too:-)

Silesian melodies 2

Some Silesian melodies for you

According to our schedule in April we're supposed to present interesting places in our region. Thinking about the topic we thought we could present some other aspects of our region, for example music. One of our students plays the accordion so we asked him to play some traditional Silesian melodies.

Famous Poles - a survey

During our group meeting we decided to make a short survey about famous Polish people. Each of us could name two persons. The results are quite interesting. As you can see, John Paul II is found to be the most important Pole. Other Polish people chosen by the students represent various times and professions (musicians, politicians, sportsmen). It shows the diversity of interests in our group, too.

Boardgames

It started after an idea of our Polish partner teacher Weronika. Czech students didn´t know how to create the boardgames in excel. But very soon they became really brilliant and we have created a brochure which contains 12 boardgames on different topics, which can be used any time in any class. The students are very proud of themselves.
The other activity were crosswords which have become very popular also with the younger children who are the first to solve them.

What we do for poeople, animals and the environment

We made the film to present things we do in our school to help people, animals and the environment. Because some students were absent not all the campaigns we take part in are decsribed in this film. You"ll hear more on my podcast when the students come back to school. We'll tell you for example how we organize "integrative classes". We also prepared "We care" magazine - it's published in our TwinSpace.

Czech-Polish project certificate of Quality

Czech-Polish project Let´s /b/log in

The group of students from tercie B, who are working in the project , has applied for the certificate of Quality. Our project has come to the last part and we think we have a lot to show. During our cooperation we have created video and audio recordnings, we are working in the podcast / podomatic/ and we make Photostory recordings. / photostory 3 /

On part of the project is dedicated to the environment and we introduce our environments to each other. We both write asbout our project on the school web and we introduce this cooperation to the public.

The Polish school organizes a lot of interesting events and thanks to them we can celebrate them, too. For example the International Day of Mother Tongues, which is celebrated on 21st February. We were not at school, so we spoke about this day after the winter break.

We are working in the twinspace of the etwinning portal and we are also writing a blog, called the same name as our proejct. / http://tercieb-poland.blogspot.com/
And so day after day we can follow school life in the Czech and the Polish school. We are happy for our friends successes and we tell them about ours.

We uploaded the short photostory about the results of the graphs / teenage life style / into our school web. There is a section in activities called MEZINARODNI PROJEKTY, where we store our contributions. / http://www.gym-cl.cz/
In the pictures Tereza O. has won a prize in the National English magazine R+R

One of the best short films from Prague

This is one of the best contributions from Prague. Maybe it is Polish, but I am not sure.

Our school and film advertisement

There was a competition about the best advertisement about etwinning. Our school took part in it before the International conference. We didn´t win, but we like our short film. The students are from kvarta B.
